Turn Out the Lights. . .

Its hard to believe we semi-willingly left this heaven on earth to return to the grind of our daily lives just a couple of weeks ago. Time seems to pass all together too fast when we're out on the tour. It has to be the fact that we surround ourselves with incredible people we are fortunate enough to call friends. . . Real good friends. Interesting how the company can make the trip and this time was no exception. It didn't matter whether we were on DawnPatrol or trying to get the grill to emit even a blue dart level of cooking heat, the people made it bliss. I remember this poem that I used at a special occasion in my life and today as I thought about the first NWT entry it came back to me. I figured that was a sign to include it.

If nobody smiled and nobody cared
and nobody helped us along.
If every moment looked after itself and
good things always went to the strong;
If nobody cared just a little about you
and nobody cared about me,
and we stood alone, in the battle of life,
What a dreary old world this would be.
Life is sweet, because of friends we've made
and the things which in common we share.
We want to live on, not because of ourselves,
but because of the people who care.
It's doing and giving for somebody else
on which all of life's splendor depends.
The joy of this world, when you've summed it all up,
is found in the making of friends

Now as I look at the hundreds of pictures, I just sit and smile. It's a memory my family will keep for a lifetime. One trip never replaces another, it just falls in line with the millions of memories we have made and treasure in Lake Powell. While there will be many more posts on this trip to come, it's still hard to say. . . The party's over.

I don’t have any poems or can’t wax eloquently like the Fatman- but I completely agree with all that stuff Clark said…
Here’s a few things I learned and what I’ll always remember from the NWT 2007
• The first annual NWT invitational golf tournament.
• Learning to surf
• Mastercraft Swim platforms float sometimes.
• Pyrotechtonics can be very unpredictable (kids don’t ever try to do pyrotechtonics)
• One broken garbage bag can spread a lot of garbage into Lake Powell in a hurry!
• Connie has a really cool crack
• Boomer has an awesome middle name
• It’s all about where you place your anchors
• Movies can be projected on cliffs
• Russ doesn’t snore when he’s not sleeping
• Yahtzee can be addicting

We can’t wait for next year……..

I've hesitated to post anything because I could never express myself with a poem and eloquent words like the slender fat man. With that aside be it known that the Millers had a blast. I don't think a day has gone by without something coming up about the NWT trip that brings grins and laughter.

Hardest Laugh – George Washington hair-do's from Shae, Jordon, Abby and Kenzie

Most Questionable – Grown men soaping up their entire bodies and hugging on the back deck

Most puzzling – Connie's crack wasn't at all familiar

Creativity – Scenic golf on the PGA's new course.

Unbelievable – Showing a movie on a jagged red cliff from 80 yards away. Impossible!!

Most filling – Large amount of all kinds of wonderful food.

Most revealing – It is possible to surf behind a boat (in the dark)

Most Educational – HUD RUN

Most Impressive – A back flip off the high dive by Mrs. Taylor

Unpleasantly funny – Garbage can spread fast at 35 MPH

Most Majestic – There Is Beauty All Around

Most Relaxing – Motoring down the channel with good tunes and great views

Most lucky – Receiving hundreds of dollars worth of premium fuel.

Most assuring – Having my family surrounded by such high caliber, unselfish, wonderful humans

Toughest battle – Ann and Sandra duking it out playing elimination.

Most Curious – Sleeping so comfortably with 24 other people.

Uninhibited – 4 and 5 year olds jumping off the diving board and joining elimination.

Most wanted – Yahtzee

Greatest Heart-break – Pulling away from Bull Frog on Thursday when ya'll were going back for more fun.
